3rd Annual “Fill the Truck Food Drive”

This is a partnership between Louisiana Bar Association, The Southwest Louisiana Bar Association, U Haul and Chick-fil-A to collect food for those who need it. I’m not working directly with this event this year, but have in the past. it’s a really good cause and helps local food banks. This is a very helpful and worthy cause for the Lake Charles and Calcasieu Parish area.

The 3rd Annual Fill the Truck Food Drive will be held this year from March 24 – March 29. Each person who brings in 3 cans of food will receive an entrée at no charge! Those who bring in a flat (or case) of cans will receive a free Value Meal! (A Value Meal is an entrée, side order and choice of drink.) Chick-fil-A of Lake Charles is located at 3435 Nelson Road. Non-perishable food may be donated between the hours of 6:00 am and 10:00 pm (inside the restaurant) Monday through Saturday.

Owner/Operator David Griffin explained: “Chick-fil-A is committed to being a positive, active partner in our community. With the Regional Bar Associations and our national partner, U Haul, our efforts to collect needed food items have proven to be very successful.”

“We are fortunate to have caring organizations like the Bar Association and U-Haul as well as a local Junior Beta Club and CARC which have made significant donations to this effort.” said Marketing Director Irene Vandever. “Year one, we assisted one food bank. Year two, the collected food items were divided between two. For this year, the Oak Park and Waters Edge Food Pantries and the Salvation Army will receive the donated food items.”
